VISIT OF A MEMBER OF MSF- 4th ESO

Last week we had the visit of Paul Jawor, a member of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in the
classrooms of the CAR, to teach us and explain the function of his work.
He works in the area of water and sanitation who takes care of bringing and cleaning water to places where they need it, apart from his work at this NGO there are also: pediatrician, gynecologist, psychologists… He taught us that at MSF, neutrality and impartiality are the universal medical ethics.
In addition to the talk, we did a small activity to show the importance of his function inside the
organization. To carry out this experiment, he gave us a chlorine tablet, to determine what color
difference there was between the one containing chlorine and the other, without any of it. This made
us aware of the importance of water, we realized that we use many liters of water per person, and
although often we don’t appreciate it, it is fundamental for human survival.

When we asked himwhere he helped, he told us that he was indeed involved in the conflict in Ukraine, the earthquake in Afghanistan, the war between Israel and Palestine, the outbreak of cholera, and many more.
I think that this workshop served to make us aware about the daily help that people need and to learn to be supportive of others who are going through a harder time. Also, I wanted to thank Paul Jawor for saving some time from his schedule to be with us and explain his work and the importance of it, I think he is an admirable person due to the work he does helping people without a monetary reward.
