Aquest curs acadèmic, el Departament d’Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya i el Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional han concedit al nostre centre el recurs d’una auxiliar de conversa en llengua anglesa a temps complet. Ens complau anunciar que la persona nomenada per a dur a terme aquest suport ha estat l’Amaya Pizzuti, nativa dels Estats Units, i estarà amb nosaltres fins a principis de juny.
Què és una auxiliar de conversa? Per què és important?
El recurs d’un/a auxiliar de conversa té com a objectiu principal donar suport a l’aprenentatge de llengües estrangeres, fonamentalment pel que fa a la competència oral i comunicativa de l’alumnat, així com fomentar la interculturalitat.
Les funcions de l’auxiliar de conversa inclouen:
- Facilitar pràctiques de conversa oral en anglès amb l’alumnat.
- Col·laborar en activitats pedagògiques on l’anglès sigui llengua vehicular o complementària.
- Enriquir l’experiència educativa per mitjà de la presència d’una persona nativa de parla anglesa, aportant no només l’idioma, sinó també aspectes culturals del seu país d’origen.
- Donar suport al professorat del centre en la planificació i desenvolupament d’activitats en llengua estrangera, així com en projectes específics d’innovació lingüística.
És important destacar que la figura de l’auxiliar de conversa no substitueix un docent, sinó que complementa i enriqueix l’oferta educativa, especialment pel que fa a la part oral, comunicativa i intercultural.
On serà present l’auxiliar?
El suport de l’Amaya s’implementarà a tots els estudis del centre: a ESO i Batxillerat, així com als diferents cursos i cicles de Formació Professional. Això permetrà que tot l’alumnat, independentment del nivell que tingui o dels estudis que cursi, pugui beneficiar-se d’aquest recurs, tenint en compte les necessitats del currículum i dels projectes formatius del centre.
Beneficis per a l’alumnat i per al centre
Amb la presència de l’Amaya com a auxiliar de conversa, pretenem aconseguir, entre altres, els següents objectius:
- Millorar la fluïdesa i la confiança oral de l’alumnat en anglès.
- Promoure una actitud positiva envers l’aprenentatge d’idiomes i la cultura internacional.
- Enriquir les classes amb perspectives i contexts culturals reals, tal com els d’un país anglosaxó.
- Potenciar la competència comunicativa global, no només lingüística, sinó també social i intercultural, en un context educatiu real.
- Donar suport al professorat en un model educatiu més internacional i plurilingüe, ajustat a les exigències del món globalitzat i de la societat multicultural.
Per acabar, donem la benvinguda a l’Amaya Pizzuti. Estem convençuts que la seva presència enriquirà l’experiència educativa de tots els membres de la nostra comunitat.
This academic year, the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Spanish Ministry of Education have granted our school a full-time English language conversation assistant. We are pleased to announce that the person appointed to provide this support is Amaya Pizzuti, a native of the United States, and she will be with us until the beginning of June.
What is a conversation assistant? Why is it important?
The main purpose of a conversation assistant is to support the learning of foreign languages, particularly with regard to students’ oral and communicative skills, as well as to promote interculturality.
The duties of the conversation assistant include:
- Facilitating oral conversation practice in English with students.
- Assisting with teaching activities where English is the medium or a complementary language.
- To enrich the educational experience through the presence of a native English speaker, contributing not only the language but also cultural aspects of their home country.
- To support the school’s teaching staff in the planning and development of activities in the foreign language, as well as in specific language innovation projects.
It is important to emphasise that the role of the conversation assistant is not to replace a teacher, but to complement and enrich the educational offer, especially regarding the oral, communicative and intercultural aspects.
Where will the assistant be present?
Amaya‘s support will be implemented across all the centre’s studies: in the ESO and Batxillerat, as well as in the various courses and cycles of Formació Professional. This will allow all students, regardless of their level or the course they are taking, to benefit from this resource, taking into account the needs of the centre’s curriculum and training programmes.

With the presence of Amaya as a conversation assistant, we aim to achieve the following objectives, among others:
- To improve students’ fluency and confidence in speaking English.
- To promote a positive attitude towards learning languages and international culture.
- To enrich lessons with real cultural perspectives and contexts, such as those of an English-speaking country.
- To strengthen global communicative competence, not only linguistic but also social and intercultural, in a real educational context.
- To support the teaching staff in a more international and plurilingual educational model, suited to the demands of the globalised world and multicultural society.
Finally, we welcome Amaya Pizzuti. We are convinced that her presence will enrich the educational experience of all members of our community.
