EXPERIMENTING WITH WATER

Tintins showed a high interest in water and problems we have been experimenting lately. Today we have been talking about how could we measure water in order to prepare an experiment. We wanted to know if sea water evaporates and if so, if we could separate water from salt. One of them came up with an idea: we could pour water into a container and then cover it with another container leaving some room for a tray. Her theory is that we are going to get fresh water and salt is going to remain in the central container. One of them pointed out we could add mark with a feltip pen the water level. By  doin it so, we would be able to measure how much water have evaporated in some time.

UNA BATERIA A L’ESCOLA!

Aquesta setmana tots els Martamatins hem tingut una sorpresa ben gran: tenim un nou instrument a l’aula de música!

A l’escola tenim un Massagran que fa molts anys que toca la bateria, i com que ja li ha quedat una mica petita ha decidit regalar-nos-la. Ens ha fet a tots i totes molta il·lusió! És per això que a la sessió de música ha vingut a ensenyar-nos-la, a explicar-nos com funciona i a fer-nos una petita demostració dels ritmes que ha après al llarg de tots aquests anys. També hem pogut tocar-la tots i totes per primera vegada i ens ha agradat moltíssim.

A FREE VERSION OF SAINT GEORGE AND THE DRAGON

We have been reading comics about different versions of Saint George and the Dragon. Today we have been writing our own version of Saint Geroge and the Dragon.

The idea was to role the story cubes and take the elements as part of our story. Apart from this we had to include the Dragon, Saint George and the Princess taking into account that we could change their gender.

Finally we read the story to our classmates.

Assaig amb la Sheila Grados

Aquest divendres 24 de març al matí els Tintins hem fet una classe de música ben especial.

A les 9:30 ha vingut la Sheila, graduada superior en cant, cantant i mestra de cant de l’escola Artístic de Vilanova del Camí a fer-nos un assaig per preparar bé les diferents cançons de la Cantata de 4t.

La Sheila ha començat la sessió fent-nos escalfar el cos i la veu amb diferents exercicis corporals i musicals. Tot seguit hem treballat la percussió corporal de la primera cançó. Tot seguit hem repassat i treballat bé les tres cançons que ja hem treballat a l’aula:

  • La cançó de la felicitat
  • Quan em sento sol
  • Tinc por

Finalment ens ha donat també algunes pautes per poder treballar les properes quatre cançons que encara ens queden per aprendre i hem pogut fer un petit torn de preguntes i curiositats que voliem preguntar-li.

L’ assaig ens ha anat molt bé per poder acabar d’entendre com serà la I Cantata de Vilanova del Camí i ens ha donat la oportunitat d’aprendre moltíssim d’una experta del cant. Tenim ganes de poder tornar a fer un assaig amb la Sheila!

El Guim ens ensenya el seu Launchpad

Aquesta setmana el Guim de l’aula de Massagrans ens ha ensenyat a tota la Comunitat de Grans què és i com s’utilitza un Launchpad. Un Launchpad és un controlador Midi que serveix per produir música electrònica. No podem considerar-lo del tot un instrument perquè no crea cap so nou, però si que pot crear música nova amb sons d’instruments que ja existeixen. Per poder utilitzar-lo el Guim ens ha explicat també que utilitza un programa informàtic a través del qual pot gravar, programar el seu controlador midi, i versionar i modificar les seves creacions. Ens ha encantat tenir l’oportunitat de conèixer i veure com funciona aquest instrument!

 

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Today we have went to Can Papasseit to a theatre play in English. The classic Beauty and the Beast adapted in a version set nowadays in London and Hollywood.

All groups in Primary education from Rovellons to Massagrans enjoyed the show. Some of them loved the songs, some of them the jokes and some others, the whole show.

When it was almost at the end, four students had the opportunity to get on stage. It was an exciting moment.

COM ES MOU LA TERRA?

L’altre dia, fent cerca d’informació del clima dels diferents països que hem triat per a fer les maquetes, van sorgir alguns dubtes. Com és que a la Terra hi ha zones on fa molt fred i altres zones on fa molta calor? Van estar sortint vàries idees i vam acabar parlant sobre si el nostre planeta girava o no, i com girava. Vam veure que teníem certs dubtes que calia aclarir, i així és com hem començat a buscar informació sobre la Terra, els seus moviments i la resta de planetes del voltant.

Primer vam començar explicant què sabia cadascú de nosaltres, amb dibuixos, frases i paraules. Les respostes van ser força variades, cadascú tenia idees diferents.

Després vam veure un vídeo on explicava detalls dels moviments que fa la Terra: rotació i translació (velocitat, temps, distància,…). Vam extreure’n la informació bàsica i més important per a resoldre els nostres dubtes. Llavors vam intentar imitar els moviments que fa la Terra per entendre millor les diferències entre els dos moviments.

A PROBLEM WITH THE SIZE OF THE WOOD FOR THE MODEL’S BASE

We have seen the sizes and price of a wood board. We deduced that after seeing a drawing with sizes and a price. The sizes were in two different formats, with cm and m or with cm and mm. This fact created a conversation around sizes and formats. Someone pointed out that a week could be measured with days or weeks. Therefore seven days equals one week. In the end we concluded the measurements meant the same but they were splitted in different units.

Later we represented on the floor the wood board. One Tintin thought we could use only one board in order to make the base for all our models. Since we need eight, they started dividing the area in two long parts. Later on, they splitted the two rectangles into four with a perpendicular line. Dividing again the rectangles we got a total of eight squares with  61 cm per side.
