The “Three Musicians” was chosen to start the first dialogical gathering of English 2 and 3.
We discovered that Pablo Picasso made this painting in 1921. You can link here for more information.
We also learned vocabulary related to describe a painting: at the bottom, at the top, on the left, on the right. And also some useful adjectives: priceless, frame, portrait, etc.
Here are some comments from our students:
“This painting is very poor. It should be more realistic”.
“I would like a frame made of gold for this painting”.
“I would change the colours: green, red, black and orange”.
“It is very difficult to understand the painting, because it is a mixture of cubism and abstract. And if you don’t know anything about art it is difficult to understand it. That is why we can’t enjoy this painting”.
“Art is boring for me. I can’t feel the sense of it. In my religion the art doesn’t exist, only if it is related to the religion”.
Although the different comments are a little bit negative, we enjoyed very much the class and the moment.
