Cultural Bridges: Learning Beyond Language Through International Exchange

Having a conversation assistant at our school plays a decisive role in preparing students for real intercultural experiences. This impact is felt across all levels of Secondary Education, but it is especially significant for students in 3º ESO, many of whom will travel to Sweden next week under the Erasmus programme. English will be their vehicular language as they take part in academic activities and share everyday school and social life with their Swedish peers.
Thanks to the immersive and communicative work carried out with the conversation assistant, these students approach the exchange with greater confidence, linguistic flexibility, and cultural openness. They are better equipped to interact naturally, adapt to new contexts, and fully engage in the experience beyond the classroom.
Upon their return, these students will undoubtedly confirm the value of having benefited from this immersive educational approach. It is our hope that the positive outcomes of the Erasmus programme will encourage other students to participate in future international exchanges and to make the most of the enriching opportunities offered by conversation assistant sessions.
