Fa uns pocs mesos, l’alumnat de 3r d’ESO va iniciar un projecte d’intercanvi lingüístic amb un Institut de secundària de Preston, Nova Anglaterra. Us deixem amb una explicació de la seva experiència.
A few months ago, students of 3 ESO started a letter exchange with a secondary school in Preston, North England. The project is called PenFriends.
We first completed and decorated a jigsaw piece (about me) with personal information (our names, where we live and the things we like, etc.). Then, we sent that to our English friends and they sent us the same thing in Spanish. The teachers formed pairs according to our level of English and Spanish respectively.
The project consists of an exchange of not only letters but also language (English and Spanish), culture and interests. We wrote them letters in both English and Spanish. It was a good way to improve on writing and we learnt some new expressions too. Now, we’re waiting for their letters!
We have put in our classes a poster where we have all the jigsaw pieces with the exchanging information and a slogan that it says: ‘‘In this project we all fit together’’ .
We think that this project is so interesting because we can have real communication with students from another country. We really want to continue receiving new letters from them, learning more English and more things about our penpals and their country.
