BUILDING SAHPES

Related to the project “Ajudem als nens i nenes de les Campitos” we have been making necklaces, bracelets, badges and all the objects have a thing in common: they all have SAHPES!!
So during these weeks we have been working with these shapes:
hearts, stars, circles, squares, rectangles, ovals and diamonds.
The Pinotxos have learned a song about shapes and have build different objects with shapes; a fish, a ship, a car, a person, a train…
It’s been a great fun and they have become aware that shapes are everywhere!!!

WE PLAY IN 4 CORNERS

Today afternoon we have been playing in four groups. While one group was doing some activities on the Classroom, another was playing Guess who. The third goup was playing a game about telling the time and the last goup was playing Scrabble.

We enjoyed a lot while we practiced a little!

WE SCALE A DRAWING

Today we have been scaling a drawing. At the begining and in a collaborative way, we have been scaling a drawing on the white board. Later, we took the grids we drawn last week and started to scale the drawings Joan and Ivet gave us. When we finished we retouched the darwing with a black fel-tip pen.

CORNERS IN TITINS

Today we have been doing corners in Tintins. The first one was about drawing the Eiffel Tower following a tutorial in English. The second one, was about creating words through Scrabble. The third was to playing describing people while playing the game: “Guess Who”.

It was fun while we practiced some speaking and listening.

CORNERS IN PETITS PRINCEPS

Today we have been doing corners in Petits Prínceps. The first one was about drawing the Eiffel Tower following a tutorial in English. The second one, was about creating words through Scrabble. The third was to playing describing people while playing the game: “Guess Who”.

It was fun while we practiced some speaking and listening.

LEGO BRICKS

Taking advantage of the project “Volem construir un volcà de Lego!” throughout the week we have been talking about different types of Lego blocks and reviewing the colours and numbers.

It’s been a very meaningful activity and next week we will learn a tonguetwister about blogs.

Don’t miss it!!

SHAPES ARE EVERYWHERE!

Within the week the Pinotxos have realised that shapes are everywhere!!  ⏹📐💜⭐
The chairs’ seat is square , the benches and tables are rectangular, the necklaces have circles and stars, a volcano is triangular, most books can be recatngular or square…

It’s been an interesting week. And now a new question has arised…
What is he difference between a square and a rectangle?

We will discover about it soon…

WE CHECK IF THE HOT AIR BALOON FLIES

It’s been quite a long journe that finally drove us to the construction of our hot air balloon model. First we learn some facts about how hot air balloons where invented. Then we learned if hot air balloons fly and how to steer them. We visited Ultra Magic, a very important hot air balloon factory. We where really surprised by many facts but what it really surprised us it was how manual the process is.

The design of our first model it was from 3D figures we had to design how to build them from a paper. So we had to think a lot in order to get the drawing done. Later, we cutted out the outline and glued the model. After this process we started building a scaled envelope with real fabric from an actual hot air balloon. Ultra Magic provided us this fabric. We scaled the model 1:3 so the final envelope was three times bigger than the first prototype.

We have learned how to scale, how to design in 2D a 3D model and to solve problems along the way such as finding out silicone wasn’t suitable to stick the hot air balloon fabric. We had tons of fun!
