Principles of organization and management

The main principles of organization and management by which we are governed are:

  • Use of democratic mechanisms.
  • Transparency.
  • Participation.
  • Objectivity.
  • Professionalism.
  • Effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Innovation and change.
  • Continuous improvement

These principles must be specific in action with these objectives:

  • Manage the Institute democratically.
  • Inform the Faculty and the School Board of the relevant  economic, administrative and educational aspects.
  • Encourage the participation of teachers, students and families in its management
  • Act with objectivity and professionalism in the management decisions, the assessment tasks and allocation of positions and functions.
  • Promote continuous improvement, with the use of internal and external audits and assessments as tools of support.
  • Collaborate with other centres and professionals from different sectors to share experiences that enrich both its members and the institution itself, through the acquisition of new knowledge, experiences and working methods.
  • Foster the cooperation with companies, universities, institutes or associations to develop innovative projects of greater scope and know other realities.

 

Organization

The Institute Lacetània, in accordance with current regulations and with the experience gained in its management, structures its organisation in the following manner.

1. Collegiate Government

  •  Head of Economic Management
  •  Educational Coordinator
  •  Vocational Training Coordinator
  •  Secondary Education Coordinator
  •  Key Stage 5 Coordinator
  •  Head of Guidance
  •  Head of Relationships with Companies
  •  Coordinator of Activities and School Services.
  • Organized through the Educational Committee and the Economic Committee.

3. Coordination

  • Teaching teams at all levels
  • Departments and Heads of Departments.

4. Other management positions

  • Commission of quality improvement.
  • Computer Coordinator
  • Safety and Prevention coordinator
  • Language Coordinator

5.  Students

  •  Council (meeting) of delegates of all classes

6. Parents Association (AMPA)

The Parents Association of Parents is an independent organisation with representation on the School Board.

Its involvement in school life is organised by the School Board and the various working committees established in agreement with the management team.

It mainly contributes material to improve the quality of the school equipment and its facilities, as well as with other services such as the school library, the social worker and extracurricular activities.

 

7. School-environment relations

The commitment of our school means we wish to offer a quality service based on the cooperation with other schools and the defense of the school as a public service which is non-discriminatory, inclusive and respectful of all beliefs and ideologies within the framework of democratic coexistence.

The Institute is dedicated to offer a good service and its rooting to the social, cultural and professional environment.

This principle is expressed in the following main points:

  • Our facilities are offered to institutions, associations and companies.
  • Partnership with organizations such as the Foundation Lacetània.
  • Collaboration in the organization of educational and cultural activities.
  • Relationship with companies around the curricula to adapt vocational training to the needs and changes in the production sector.
  • Participation in courses and activities organized by other entities.
  • Participation in technological innovation projects with companies in the area.
  • Close relationship with institutions of the city, County Council, unions, employers,etc.
