La cerimònia dels Òscars

Before the Christmas holidays, 1st of ESO E students had to face a new challenge: becoming actors and actresses for a day. How? Instead of reading “William Tell and other stories” in class and doing the exercises at the back of each of the stories, they had to work in groups and act out one of those six short stories. To act out a story, it is important to understand it extremely well first, so we started by doing a comprehension task. After that, in an autonomous way (using a guidance base and under the supervision of the teacher), they had to work on different aspects: characters assignment, intonation, clothing (costumes and extra items), stage decoration and, of course, rehearse a lot!

In order to give the activity the importance it deserved, a ceremony of the Oscars took place on the last day. We all together decided the Oscar statues that would be delivered: best actor, best actress, best effort and best group performance. The day came and we all went to the “Sala d’actes” to witness the hard work that most of the groups had done. It was an exciting day and after all students voted, some of them went on holiday with an Oscar statue under their arm.
