2nd, 3rd and 4th ESO students fill L’Ateneu to see Jekyll

Arlet Sánchez and Susana Fernández reporting from 3rd ESO:

Most of us know the classic Jekyll story, but this play is quite different. Henry Jekyll is a student of astrophysics at university. His parents and friends are always deciding for him, saying «do this» or «do that». However, one day everything changes and Henry says stop.

Through the play, our protagonist shows extreme discomfort when people tell him different things to do, because he does not really want to do them. Then one night when he goes to sleep, he has a dream where two people who say that they are Jekyll, teach him how to say NO to difficult situations. When Jekyll wakes up and he actually does what he wants to do, he feels much better with himself.

Taking everything into account the play helps you to understand that you need to take your own decisions above all, and learn to say NO. In our opion the theatre play was very good, and the English was understandable for all kinds of students. So we really recommend it. Yet, despite all these good things, there is always space to improve. We think the scenes were repetitive, and we would have liked to see a more dynamic performance on the stage by adding more decorations to the scenes.
