Green, sustainable, eco-friendly, recycled materials, better for the environment… Are these affirmations really true, or are they trying to trick us?
Within the project “SOStenibilitat”, the classes of 2nd of ESO studied a not very popular subject: “greenwashing”. This is when a brand or a company makes affirmations or advertise that they are “sustainable” and they care about the environment when they are just trying to sell you their product lying about their claims or telling half of the story. To finish the project, we made some posters with the information we learned, so everyone can know a bit about this issue, and we hung them in our school.
In this exhibition, you can learn what greenwashing means, why companies do it and how they do it; there are also some posters telling you how to spot it or how to know if their claims are true or false.
We made an effort to make these to create awareness and help people understand it, so we hope you could use some of your time to visit our exhibition and learn about greenwashing.
Thanks,
Elna Gispert
