Last friday 31st March, we celebrated the English Day at our school.
We arranged different student’s groupings for Infantil, Inicial, Mitjà and Superior.
In Infantil and Inicial we painted Easter eggs, played bingo with numbers and we played outside trying to find hidden Easter eggs.
In Mitjà we did different activities such as Scattergories, Bingo and the Scarf Game.
Finally, in Superior, the activites were Scattergories, Antitabboo and Running dictation.
The learning process can be more motivating for kids if games are used in classroom. Students feel more engaged and challenged when they take part in games. We normally use games using different materials and groupings to make this procedure more interesting for them. The main objective is to review different topics by using the English language as much as possible.
Attached to this article, you will find different pictures taken this week in one of our English sessions with 4th grade. We used different games such as Guess What, Animals domino and a multitopic anti-tabboo.
A cicle inicial fem ambient dues tardes a la setmana. És un dia molt esperat pels infants, ja que a més de passar-ho bé, aprenen jugant i es retroben amb infants d’altres classes.
Un dels ambients que podem trobar és: “Let’s experiment”, on els infants poden experimentar amb diferents materials a la vegada que aprendre anglès. Anem tots plegats al laboratori on trobem diverses propostes per experimentar.
Aprofitat aquests dies de fred el laboratori s’ha omplert de propostes relacionades amb l’hivern. Hem creat neu dins l’aula, hem experimentat amb farina, jugat amb els orbits que estan molt freds…
Els ambients afavoreixen l’autonomia dels infants, ja que és el nen/a qui decideix on anar i construeix el seu aprenentatge a través dels seus interessos i motivacions. Aquest fet provoca que augmentin les ganes d’aprendre i de descobrir nous coneixements.
Al cicle d’infantil, l’anglès es treballa de manera divertida i significativa, a través de contes, cançons i jocs. A més, també tenim la proposta de l’ambient de joc simbòlic “Playroom” on tenim diferents escenaris com doctor’s, supermarket, mecanic’s, house i the school, on juguem i interactuem utilitzant l’anglès.
Com és una sessió?
Comencem cantant una cançó de benvinguda i després treballem les emocions i el temps amb cançons i reforcem el vocabulari amb jocs com la mímica o el “what is missing?”.
Després, a través dels contes i altres cançons o històries, introduïm el vocabulari que treballarem aquest mes.
A I3, estem treballant els animals de la granja a partir de la cançó “Old McDonald”, ja que properament aniran d’excursió a Can Rigol.
Aquest és el memori al que estem jugant per continuar practicant els animals de la granja:
A I4 estem treballant els números amb el conte “Pete the cat and the four groovy buttons”.
A I5 estem treballant el temps i els animals amb la història “Room on the broom” i reforcem el vocabulari amb titelles.
El mes que ve descobrirem noves històries i vocabulari nou d’una manera igual de divertida i engrescadora. Keep on learning!
Sharing to Learn is a collaborative project we do with INS Miramar. In this project, a few students from the High School help us with our English language. It is carried out with our 3rA and 3rB students. The language assistants come to help us every Tuesday and Wednesday to do different activities and games with them.
We are practising our oral skills and learning vocabulary, so it is great that they come to help us. Here you have a few images about these moments:
Last November 28th we celebrated Halloween with our CM and CS students.
A lot of our students decided to use costumes to represent different characters of this special event. Some of them were really scary!
To learn vocabulary about this celebration, we did activities such as “The scarf Game” (“pañuelo”), Origami creating scary forms, Head Bands and Halloween Bingo.
We had a good time and we are looking forward to celebrating next year’s Halloween soon!
Els i les alumnes de cicle inicial hem fet una sessió de jocs de taula en anglès, on a més de passar-ho d’allò més bé hem aprofitat per repassar tot el vocabulari treballat.
Mitjançant el joc, els infants són capaços d’aprendre de forma significativa. A més, no només estem treballant la llegua anglesa sinó també llenguatge matemàtic amb el joc “Throw the dice”, la psicomotricitat fina amb el Pictonary, la memòria amb el Memory o l’observació i la discriminació visual amb el joc del Linx.
A mesura que anem treballant nou vocabulari, s’anirà afegint al vocabulari que ja treballat. D’aquesta manera, no acabem una unitat per començar una altra, sinó que anirem acumulant aprenentatges.

We have finally finished our videos explaining some of the food security issues that we are facing these days. We have chosen some different topics, so, we hope you like our video and remember: We need to take action to solve problems!

Els nens i nenes de P3 un cop a la setmana gaudeixen d’una classe de English. En totes les sessions fem desdoblament la qual cosa afavoreix les dinàmiques. Cada sessió té la mateixa organització.
El 1r que fem és la “Hello song”. Ens posem per parelles i ens diem “hello” tot cantant la cançó. Tot seguit cantem la cançó del “Weather” per practicar el vocabulari del temps i preguntem “What’s the weather like today?”
Les activitats són molt dinàmiques per tal d’aconseguir la seva atenció i que aprenguin fàcilment. Les activitats canvien segons la unitat que estem treballant.

En la 1a representen a uns excursionistes que estan a la sabana i es troben uns animals que els van acompanyant durant el camí.
En la segona foto estan imitant als animals que surten a la cançó.
