Abstract self-portraits

As you know, we are working on different types of techniques to learn about Picasso and abstract art.

In this case, we have started creating portraits by drawing parts of the face, all of them different from each other. The idea is to make students aware of the point of view of the artist, drawing each part as if it was seen from the front or from the side.

These are a couple of photos we have taken during the process.

Viladecans Guide for our eTwinning project

Hello readers!

We have almost finished our Viladecans Guide for the eTwinning project we are carrying out in Year 5 with other European schools. In this project, we can find students from Poland, Italy, Greece and Checz Republic.

During the first weeks, we described ourselves and created a video about our school. Now it is time to show our town and show them the most important places from Viladecans.

We will show you some of our videos soon, but now you can have a look at some of this pictures we took during the process.

We’ll be in touch.

Art with Picasso

Hello there!

In Art, in Year 4, we are studying Picasso and, mainly, the cubism style. Remember it is an abstract way of representing art, so the final results are quite funny.

We have started creating different 3D models using this style. We practiced, first, in 2D and now it’s time to do it with different shapes, parts of the body,  recycled cardboard, etc.

Have a look at the process and we hope to show you the final results soon.

eTwinning – what do we know about the Olympic Games?

Hello World!

As you may know, we are carrying out an eTwinning Project with different schools all over Europe. So far, we have created a video about our school and all the participants have also described themselves. It is difficult to meet all of our colleagues, but we are trying.

Today we have created a few Word Clouds about the Olympic Games so that we set the starting point of our learning process about the next competition that will take place in Paris during next Summer 2024.

English Day 2023

Last friday 31st March, we celebrated the English Day at our school.

We arranged different student’s groupings for Infantil, Inicial, Mitjà and Superior.

In Infantil and Inicial we painted Easter eggs, played bingo with numbers and we played outside trying to find hidden Easter eggs.

In Mitjà we did different activities such as Scattergories, Bingo and the Scarf Game.

Finally, in Superior, the activites were Scattergories, Antitabboo and Running dictation.

Learning with games

The learning process can be more motivating for kids if games are used in classroom. Students feel more engaged and challenged when they take part in games. We normally use games using different materials and groupings to make this procedure more interesting for them. The main objective is to review different topics by using the English language as much as possible.

Attached to this article, you will find different pictures taken this week in one of our English sessions with 4th grade. We used different games such as Guess What, Animals domino and a multitopic anti-tabboo.

Sharing to Learn – 3r

Sharing to Learn is a collaborative project we do with INS Miramar. In this project,  a few students from the High School help us with our English language. It is carried out with our 3rA and 3rB students. The language assistants come to help us every Tuesday and Wednesday to do different activities and games with them.

We are practising our oral skills and learning vocabulary, so it is great that they come to help us. Here you have a few images about these moments:

Trick or Treat!

Last November 28th we celebrated Halloween with our CM and CS students.

A lot of our students decided to use costumes to represent different characters of this special event. Some of them were really scary!

To learn vocabulary about this celebration, we did activities such as “The scarf Game” (“pañuelo”), Origami creating scary forms, Head Bands and Halloween Bingo.

We had a good time and we are looking forward to celebrating next year’s Halloween soon!

Welcome back!
