Riga, Latvia – Joniškis, Lithuania
We are on May 10th, and it is our second day in Latvia and the first in Lithuania. That has an explanation; We arrived yesterday at 9pm and stayed at the hotel, refuelling for our next adventure!
Today we got up early to see the capital of Latvia, Riga, a very historical, cultural and medieval city. We visited several churches such as St. Peter’s, we also saw the parliament, the wall (16th and 17th centuries), the House of the Blackheads (the most famous building in the capital), the Town Hall, the House of the cats, the
central market… And much more!
This is not the end of our journey, Latvia is just a city of passage to reach our destination: Lithuania. So, after seeing Riga with our backpack, suitcases, and a lot of desire on top, we set off for Joniškis, the city in northern Lithuania where our partners are waiting for us.
After a good trip in a minibus they come to pick us up at the Petrol Station closest to the city. On arrival, we meet up with our partners or as they say: our sisters, and we go to lunch! And though it looks like we’ve done a lot, the day isn’t over yet. Now it’s our turn to visit the Basketball Museum, created by a man who is more than a fan of this sport and who will teach it to us. We had a very good time and we took a lot of photos.
Finally, this was our second Erasmus day! It was fantastic! But we still have a big week ahead of us, more and better tomorrow!
