It is a fact that we live in a multicultural society where managing different languages and skills is a must. That is why INS El Cairat wants to give students the necessary tools to be competent in this society.

During school year 2015-16 our school was involved in the GEP project  (Grup Experimental Plurilingüe) fostered by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The aim of the project was to teach other subjects in foreign languages (mainly English) in order to improve the English level of the students. These subjects were “Computer Science” and “Let’s Speak Music”.

We continued with such an appealing project during 2016-17 and we increased the number of students who took part in the project with subjects such as Computer Science, Social Sciences and two optional subjects in English among other small projects within the regular classes.

And during this course (2017-18) the school continues offering a range of activities within the classes using English as a means of communication in order to prepare our students for the future. That is why this is the fourth year we offer extracurricular lessons to prepare our students for different official exams with an international recognition such as the Cambridge First Certificate in English (we are a Cambridge Preparation Centre) or DELF for French.

INVESTEU Erasmus+ KA229

Aquesta setmana dins l’Erasmus+ KA2 anomenat INVESTEU, que estem coordinant, els nostres horaris han estat molt atapeïts. Hem rebut la visita dels nostres coordinadors dels centres socis transnacionals: Sra. Marta Azevedo d’Entroncamento, a Portugal; Sra. Adela Queimadelos, de Vigo, a Galícia i Sra. Kathrin Stoppel de Lindau, a Alemanya. Amb el seu ajut, hem organitzat i gaudit de les primeres jornades de formació per a professorat sobre la tutorització de projectes d’investigació.
Hem comptat també amb la valuosa intervenció de Sergi Bonet, professor a l’institut Mare de Déu de la Salut de Sabadell, i les nostres expertes locals en guiar projectes d’investigació: Carme Piqué, Sagrari Fernández, Marisa Salgado, Anna Feixas, Juana Díaz i Patrícia Moreno. Hem realitzat, tanmateix, visites culturals i àpats conjunts.
En resum, una experiència fantàstica que ens ha atorgat noves energies i motivació per continuar les nostres tasques.

This week, within the Erasmus+ KA2 called Investeu, that we are coordinating, our timetable has been very busy. We have received the visit of our transnational partners’ coordinators, Mrs. Marta Azevedo from Entroncamento, Portugal, Mrs Adela Queimadelos, from Vigo, Galicia and Mrs Kathrin Stoppel from Lindau, Germany. With their help we have organized and enjoyed our first teachers’ training on the guidance of investigation projects. We have also had the valuable interventions of Sergi Bonet, teacher at school Mare de Déu de la Salut in Sabadell, and our local investigation guides: Carme Piqué, Sagrari Fernández, Marisa Salgado, Anna Feixas, Juana Díaz and Patricia Moreno. We have enjoyed cultural visits and some incredible meals together, too.
All in all, a fantastic experience that has filled all of us with new energy and motivation to continue our tasks.

Coordinació Projecte Erasmus

Hem assistit a les jornades de centres coordinadors de projectes Eramus+ K2 organitzades pel Sepie a Madrid els dies 18 i 19 de setembre.

La professora Isabel Jiménez com a membre de l’equip impulsor de projectes Erasmus+ ha participat en aquestes reunions informatives en que es tracten temes com l’organització econòmica o la coordinació amb els socis.

Aquest curs 2019-2020 coordinem un projecte K2 amb socis a Galícia, Portugal i Alemanya que ens permetrà internacionalitzar el nostre projecte identitari Gust i Passió per Investigar i compartir experiències amb d’altres centres europeus.

Nova beca Erasmus+ per a alumnat i professorat

L’institut El Cairat ha rebut una beca Erasmus+ KA2 que permetrà el curs 2019-2020 les mobilitats d’alumnat i professorat del projecte identitari “Gust i Passió per investigar”. Aquestes mobilitats es faran a Alemanya, Portugal i La Corunya.

El projecte INVESTEU. Let’s share our investigation projects with Europe té com a objectius millorar  i posar en valor els treballs d’investigació amb metodologia científica i generar pràctiques innovadores amb l’ús de les TIC com a mitjà de recerca, gestió, creació i difusió tant d’informació com de coneixement.

Oh, avui és l’últim dia de visites a Vimmerby. Ens emportem una motxilla d’experiències i emocions totes positives.

8.15-9.10 Classe d’anglès amb la professora Maria Lind

Amb 7 anys els alumnes cursen anglès per primera vegada. La professora utilitza unes frases clau que fan que els alumnes puguin seguir bé la classe en anglès. També fan feines escrites i jocs de taula.

9.25-10.15 Classe de castellà amb el professor Anders Anckarman

Nosaltres havíem preparat una petita presentació del nostre centre, El Cairat, i d’Esparreguera per als alumnes més grans de l’escola, que posteriorment ens han fet preguntes sobre cultura, funcionament de l’educació, etc.

10.30-11.20 Classe d’anglès amb la professora Beata Ringström

Els alumnes de 8è, que tenen 15 anys, han dedicat la classe d’avui a preparar preguntes pel darrer guanyador del premi ALMA (Àstrid Lindgren Memorial Award) que tindràn l’oportunitat de preguntar-li personalment quan visiti Vimmerby.

11.55- 13.10 Classe de ciències naturales amb Maria Rotebäck

La professora ha utilitzat la metodologia AICLE, barrejant l’anglès i el suec, per fer una classe sobre el canvi climàtic amb els alumnes de 12 anys. Han fet servir les TAC per veure un vídeo i seguidament respondre unes preguntes per avaluar la comprensió del vídeo.

Oh, today is our last day of visits in Vimmerby. We have filled our luggage with lots of positive experiences and emotions.

8.15-9.10 English lesson with Maria Lind

At the age of 7 students have English lessons for the first time. The teacher uses some key sentences that help students to follow the class in English. They also do some written tasks and play boardgames.

9.25-10.15 Spanish lesson with Anders Anckarman

We had prepared a short presentation about our high school, El Cairat, and Esparreguera for the oldest students in the school, who have later asked us questions about culture, the educational system, etc.

10.30-11.20 English class with Beata Ringström

The students in 8th grade, who are 15 years old, have spent today’s lesson preparing questions for the latest ALMA award winner (Àstrid Lindgren Memorial Award) and they will have the opportunity to interview him personally when he visits Vimmerby.

11.55- 13.10 Science class with Classe Maria Rotebäck

The teacher has used CLIL methodology, icing English and Swedish, to teach a lesson about climate change to 12-year-old students. They also used ICTs to watch a video and answer some questions that evaluated their comprehension of the video.

En el dia d’avui hem visitat la Astrid Lindgrenskola de primària i secundària obligatòria. Apart de l’observació de classes i dinàmiques d’aula hem pogut viure en primera persona un projecte en que fan classe en plena natura, combinant el suec, la plàstica, les ciències naturals o l’anglès amb lliçons sobre cuinar, dormir al bosc, tenir cura del medi ambient i molt més.

8.20 a 10.00 Recepció per part de la directora de a Astrid Lindgrenskola, la Sra. Anna Ljungqvist.

La directora del centre ens ha mostrat les instal.lacions entre les quals destaquem la classe de costura, on els alumnes desenvolupen un projecte personal dissenyat i cosit per ells.

També ens ha explicat que apliquen les darreres metodologies per a la millora del procés d’aprenentatge, com per exemple l’aplicació del projecte Pulse en que els nois i noies fan 20 minuts d’activitat física abans d’iniciar les classes, per activar-se i concentrar-se millor.

 10.00 a 12.00 Aprenentatge i dinar al “Bosc”

Ens hem traslladat a 4 km de Vimmerby on l’alumnat de 10 i 11 anys han anat amb bicicleta fins el que anomenen el Bosc. En plena natura, l’escola te un tipee indi, una caseta de fusta i una caravana on dormir i on guarden materials. Els alumnes treballen per grups en diferents estacions de treball com netejar i filtrar l’aigua del riu, preparar el dinar per a tothom, caçar i observar insectes del llac, dibuixar les plantes i arbres del lloc i anomenar-los en vàries llengües.

12.40 a 13.35 Observació d’una classe d’alemany amb la professora Lina Haglund

Els alumnes de 16 anys estan en el seu 4t any d’alemany. La classe ja es desenvolupa pràcticament tota en aquesta llengua. La professora combina les 4 destreses amb jocs de vocabulari.

Today, we have visited the Astrid Lindgrenskola of primary and secondary education. Apart from the observation of classes and lesson Dynamics, we have been able to experience first hand a project where students learn in contact with nature, combining lessons in Swedish, arts, science or English with learning how to cook, sleeping in the Woods and taking care of the environament.

8.20 a 10.00 Welcome by headmistress Anna Ljungqvist.

The headmistress of the school showed us the facilities, among which we could highlight the sewing lesson, in which students have to develop a personal project designed and sewn by themselves.

She also explained us that the follow the latest methodologies for the improvement of the students’ learning process, like, for example, the project called Pulse which consists on 20 minutes of physical activity a day before the lessons start so that students activate their bodies and concentrate better.

 10.00 a 12.00 Learning and having lunch at the Woods

We have travelled to a forest 4 km away from Vimmerby where 10 and 11-year-old students arrived riding their bikes. In this forest, the school has got a tipee, a wood cabin and a caravan where students can sleep and Store material. Students cooperate in different workstations like cleaning and filtering the water of the lake, preparing lunch for everybody, catching and observing insects and drawing and naming in several languages the plants and trees of the area.

Their 16-year-old students are in their 4th year of German. The lesson develops almost completely in German. The teacher combines the 4 skills with vocabulary games.

Avui, tercer dia de la mobilitat, el nostre hoste Thomas Svarén ens acompanya a visitar la Vimarskola de secundària (grundskola) i la Folkhögskolan que seria la nostra escola d’adults.

9.00 a 10.00 Visita al centre Vimarskola de secundària i classe de castellà amb la professora Johanna Altamar

 Els alumnes ens han ensenyat l’escola tot practicant el seu castellà i l’anglès, s’han presentat a l’aula individualment i estaven estudiant els verbs en passat.

10.00 a 11.00 Observació de classe de mates

 El professor de mates ens ha mostrat la gradació tant dels llibres (que tenen 4 nivells de dificultat en un sol curs) com l’avaluació dels coneixements. Hem pogut veure també la planificació de les classes i la metodologia emprada a l’aula.

12.30 a 14.00 Visita a la Folkhögskolan

La professora Linn Olsen ens ha convidat a assistir i ajudar en una classe d’anglès de nivell 4 (B-1).

El professor de suec per a estrangers Tord Johansson ens ha ensenyat el diari de notícies que fan servir per a ensenyar la llengua i després ha amenitzat la classe amb cançons tradicionals tocant l’acordió i la guitarra.

Hakan Faxberg, professor de matemàtiques, física i geografia ens ha mostrat la classe multinivell de mates en que cada alumne parteix del nivell en el que es troba per tal d’avançar.

14.30 a 16.00 Visita cultural a la casa natal de l’escriptora Astrid Lindgren

Han reconvertit la casa on va néixer i els edificis del voltant en un museu en què s’explica visualment la seva vida i la seva obra.

Today, third day of mobility, our host Thomas Sváren comes with us to visit the Vimarskola, the secondary school or grundskola, and the Folkhögskolan that could be compared to our “escola d’adults” with all types of courses.

9.00 a 10.00 Visit to the secondary school Vimarskola and Spanish lesson with Johanna Altamar.

The students showed us the school while practicing their Spanish and English. They introduced themselves one by one and they were studying verbs in the past.

10.00 a 11.00 Maths lesson observation

The maths teacher showed us the different levels that the books have (they have got 4 levels of difficulty in the same year) as well as the assessment of the students’ knowledge. We were also able to see lesson planning and the methodology used in the classroom.

12.30 a 14.00 Visit to the Folkhögskolan

The teacher Linn Olsen invited us to attend and help in an English lesson of level 4 (B1).

The teacher of Swedish for foreigners, Tord Johansson, showed us the newspaper they use to teach the language and then he has liven up the lesson with traditional songs playing accordion and the guitar.

Hakan Faxberg, teacher of maths, physics and geogaphy opened the doors of his multilevel maths lesson, where students start from their current level and keep developing their knowledge.

14.30 a 16.00  Cultural visit to the writer Astrid Lindgren’s birthplace.

They have reconverted the house where she was born and the buildings around in a museum in which they explain visually their life and her work.

En el nostre segon dia de mobilitat hem seguit la nostra visita al centre de batxillerat Vimmerby i al Teknik o escola de formació professional.

8.45 a 9.15 Reunió amb la directora i la coordinadora de nouvinguts

Interessant reunió on ens han donat amplis detalls sobre el sistema educatiu, les dificultats que troba i les solucions que apliquen.

9.15 a 10 Observació de la classe d’anglès de Marie Oskarsson

Els alumnes llegeixen al que correspon al nostre primer de Batxillerat llibres en llengua anglesa no adaptats de selecció del propi alumnat. Després la professora els demana que facin un crítica literària de la lectura.

 10.30 a 11.30 Assistència a l’escola de formació professional

La formació professional te les branques d’electricitat, automatismes i automoció te un nombre reduït d’alumnat adaptat a les necessitats reals del muniipi, però unes instal.lacions de primer ordre per a la pràctica de la professió. 

 11.30 a 12.30  Dinar al menjador comunitari i visita al gimnàs

 13.00 a 14.20 Classe de matemàtiques de batxillerat amb la professora Anja Legnegard

 Els alumnes de batxillerat preparaven l’examen de la matèria practicant cadascun sobre el llibre digital i la plataforma de l’institut aquells problemes autocorrectius que més els costen.

14.20 a 14.50 Observació d’aula de tecnologia amb el professor Robert Davidsson.

 Hem observat de primera ma diferents metodologies a l’hora d’avaluar l’alumnat, i diferents formats per mostrar els resultats d’aprenentatge (vídeo, presentacions, explicacions del professors, powerpoints, tutorials, projectes).

15.30 a 18.30 Visita cultural als jardins Kirkogardbacken, a la tomba d’Astrid Lindgren i al conjunt de cases històriques de Batsmansbacken.

 In our second day of mobility, we have continued our visit to Vimmerby high school and to the Teknik or vocational school.

 8.45 a 9.15 Meeting with the Headmistress and the Newcomers’ Program Coordinator

Interesting meeting where they have given us full details about the Swedish educational system, the dificulties they encounter and the solutions they provide.

 9.15 a 10 Job-shadowing of an English lesson with Marie Oskarsson

16-year-old students are reading non-graded books of their choice. They will have to write a book review later about them.

 10.30 a 11.30 Visit to the Teknik or Vocational School

 The vocational school has got three different branches: electricity, machinery and robotics and car mechanics. The number of students is adapted to the real needs of the municipality. The school is fully equiped for vocational practice. 

11.30 a 12.30  Lunch at the school canteen and visit to the gym

 13.00 a 14.20 Maths class with Anja Legnegard

 Students were practising for their maths exam through the self-corrective activities proposed by the digital book and by the teacher in the school’s platform. They could insist on those problems that were more difficult for them.

 14.20 a 14.50 Visit to a techonology lesson with Robert Davidsson.

 We have observed different methodologies to assess students and different formats to show the learning results of the students: video, oral presentations, teacher’s explanations, powerpoints, tutorials, projects.

 15.30 a 18.30 Cultural visit to Kirkogardbacken gardens, to Astrid Lindgren’s grave and to the historical houses of Batsmansbacken.
