Sortida al cinema en anglès de 3r i 4t d’ESO

Yesterday the groups of 3rd and 4th of ESO had the chance to go to the cinema to watch a very interesting film: “Eddie the Eagle”.
The movie is actually based on a true story that describes the life of the ski jumper Michael “Eddie” Edwards, considered one of the worst ski jumpers that have ever participated on the Olympic Games, being the last in the only Olympiads that he was part of. Now, why would a guy that is a really bad athlete would even have a movie dedicated to him you may ask. Well the story of Eddie Edwards goes beyond the place he got on the Olympic Games; his story is about passion, persistence, dedication, optimism and never ever giving up.
The film begins showing us his childhood, how he tried various sports and how he always wanted to be an Olympic athlete. Then it shows us how he became interested in ski jumping, all of the training he had to do, the money he spent and the effort he put in, and despite all of the trouble we went through he still managed to get to the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics.
We think it’s a good film with a very interesting message; it inspires you to never give up and makes you want to pursue your dreams.
