The School of Hospitality and Tourism of Barcelona (EHTB) is a recognised Vocational Education and Training school based in Barcelona, whose main aim is to fully develop students’ potential, getting them ready for the workplace and Higher Education.

 

Having more than 900 students and 88 teachers, EHTB school offers the following vocational courses:

    • GAT: Cert. HE in Hotel Management
    • GIAT: Cert. HE in Tour Guiding and Information Assistance
• Hospitality
  • Vocational Educational Trainings (VET)
    • SERVEIS: VET in Bar and Restaurant Services.
    • CUINA: VET in Catering and Hospitality.
    • FORNERIA: VET in Bakery, Pastry and Confectionary.
  • Certificate of Higher Education (Cert. HE)
    • DIR. SERVEIS: Cert. HE in Restaurant Management.
    • DIR. CUINA: Cert. HE in Catering Management.

All these courses run for 2-year periods. In all cases, a “Dual education system” is the norm, combining apprenticeships in a company and vocational education at school in one course.

In such an interconnected professional world, the study of foreign languages (English and French) is a key aspect for EHTB school. The teachers of the Foreign Languages Department work closely for improving students’ overall academic performance and also enhancing their career opportunities.

In the process of attaining the “Excellence” status of schools in the Spanish Educational System, we hold the ISO 9001 Certification. This has been made possible by the continuous hard work of our teachers and students and the assistance of firms and institutions. It has been a long process and it is an ongoing effort, which we began in the 2005-2006 Term.

We also pride ourselves on our international status. We reach out to other countries in well-established ways. We cater to our students’ needs to go abroad, experiencing the know-how of other countries in Europe.

In that respect, Mobility and Erasmus+ programmes to several countries are offered, mainly to France, Portugal, Ireland and Italy. Students get the chance to learn abroad, gaining new skills and broadening their horizons. They come back full of experiences and new ways of understanding their chosen speciality, as well as greatly improving their language skills, ever present in a globalized and digitalized world.

We are also a part of the eTwinning community (under the banner of the Erasmus+ programme). In this fully digital platform, we work with schools in other European countries. We collaborate on projects and participate in professional development activities organised at a European and national level.
