Today the Year 2 Lightning Class made a magic wand. At first it didn’t do anything but when we rubbed it with a cloth it made pieces of tissue paper, aluminium foil, cellophane and even card levitate!
We thought…Maybe there’s a magnet? Maybe there’s some wind? But no! This happens thanks to STATIC ELECTRICITY which is what creates LIGHTNING too!
Have a look at the video to see what other experiments or tricks you can try to do by charging objects with static electricity.
