Hello, I’m Luke, the English Language Assistant at Escola el Solell. Originally from Colorado, USA, my journey in Spain has been a continuous learning experience. While educational systems share similarities across cultures, they also vary significantly.
For instance, my schooling was entirely in English, unlike the multilingual environment here where students engage with English, Spanish, and Catalan. This exposure has been incredibly enriching.
Although I didn’t formally study teaching, my passion for language led me to pursue Spanish in college and assist friends in improving their English before arriving in Spain. I firmly believe that the key challenge in language education is igniting enthusiasm for learning something new and continually providing enriching and education activities. Initially, adapting to life here posed its challenges, but now, I take immense joy in being part of Escola el Solell.
I cherish the meaningful connections forged with students and take pride in contributing to their English fluency while offering insights into American culture.
