Sweet, sweet home and photos 3rd and 4th grade

Hello! How are you?

First of all, I would like to share with you some photos and activities you have been doing. Thanks a lot for your efforts. ? Let’s see If more people want to send their contributions!

Nice game: Label what you have in your house (the fridge, the television, the sofa…).

Describe your house. Add photos. I will give you an example.

Example: there is a kitchen, a bathroom, a dining-room and three bedrooms. The house isn’t big or small. There is a terrace and a garage. In my kitchen there is a white fridge and a grey washing-machine.

This is a template you can follow. You put a different room in each place and decide which furniture items we can include in each room.

You can also colour the furniture items and make sentences: the sofa is blue. The fridge is grey and the cupboards are green. This is just an example.

In Youtube there are many videos about how to make a house. Think about different material. Why you don’t show me different ways to make a house.

This is a very nice poem about moving from house to house.

Here you have an activity for the poem.

https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/sites/kids/files/attachment/poems-moving-house-worksheet.pdf

The solution is here:

https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/sites/kids/files/attachment/poems-moving-house-answers.pdf

This is a word game where you can hear and match the name of different objects.

https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/word-games/everyday-objects-1

You can also play with vocabulary cards (matching the word and the picture). You can repeat the words, draw them, play hangman, make dictations.

https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/sites/kids/files/attachment/flashcards-furniture.pdf

You can also print furniture flashcards to colour and write.

Identify the different items of furniture and try to match them with the right places. You put a cross in the right place. You can put more objects or places. Remember: one object can be found in more than one place. For example. The table is in the kitchen and in the living-room.

Kitchen  Bedroom Bathroom Living-room Dining-room
Bed
Bath
Television
Sofa
Table
Chair
Toilet
Bedside table
Lamp
Fridge
Washing-    machine

Try to answer this questions and then check the answers:

To learn the rooms of a house, I recommend a video.

A song to learn the parts of the house with the different actions we can do there. You can also think about new actions you do in the different rooms.

Game: hiding a diamond. Think about a room in the house and try to guess where the diamond is: is the diamond in the kitchen? Explain your family how we can play this game.
