On Wednesday 29th April, Year 4 pupils started a new English project called It’s Your Turn!. It consists of four learning stations designed to practise the four basic English language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
A core aim of our project is to enhance children’s autonomy and self-esteem. Students work independently most of the time, while teachers observe and step in only when needed.The exception is the Games Station, where one of the teachers guides the activity and helps students understand the rules.
During these lessons, the classroom is divided into four learning stations, each lasting 11 minutes. There are only two or three children at each station, where they put into practice what they have learned so far. Once the time is up, the children move to the next station.
The different stations are the Writing Station, Reading Station, Grammar Station and Games Station.
El dimecres 29 d’abril, els alumnes de 4t de primària van començar un nou projecte d’anglès anomenat It’s Your Turn!. Aquest projecte consisteix en quatre estacions d’aprenentatge dissenyades per practicar les quatre habilitats lingüístiques bàsiques de l’anglès: comprensió oral, comprensió lectora, expressió oral i expressió escrita.
Un objectiu fonamental del nostre projecte és potenciar l’autonomia i l’autoestima dels infants. Els alumnes treballen de manera independent la major part del temps, mentre que els mestres observen i intervenen només quan és necessari. L’excepció és l’estació dels jocs, a on una de les mestres acompanya i ajuda els alumnes a entendre les normes del joc.
Durant aquestes classes, l’aula es divideix en quatre estacions d’aprenentatge, cadascuna de les quals dura 11 minuts. Hi ha només dos o tres nens a cada estació, on posen en pràctica el que han après fins ara. Un cop s’exhaureix el temps, els infants passen a l’estació següent.
Les diferents estacions són: l’estació d’escriptura (Writing Station), l’estació de lectura (Reading Station), l’estació de gramàtica (Grammar Station) i l’estació de jocs (Games Station).
