English and Maths 3rd and 4th grade

If you like maths this is your lesson. If you don’t, give them an opportunity. Maybe you have a surprise!

First of all, do you know the numbers in English? Make dictations with your family.

Here you have a song to learn the numbers from 1 to 20.

I recommend you the number flashcards: choose the ones you need according to your level! If it’s too easy or too difficult, they are not the right ones! With the flashcards you can operate. Use the signs you know: + –  x  /

Which shapes do you know in English? Here you can learn new shapes. Try to draw them and make shape compositions. What are the differences between a square and a cube? What does a square need to become a rectangle?

You can draw them, cut them, make shapes and build different compositions. You can use (Tux) Paint, some apps or other programmes. No problem! you can even make a collage using magazines and cutting different shapes from them! Remember: imagination has no limits!

There are different apps where you can practise your maths skills in English. I recommend these ones.

In this webpage you will find different activities and games. Choose the ones that suit your level. Remember: Maths are fun.

Do you like challenges? Try to do the first 6 minutes of this video:

Try to solve the different riddles. They are a little bit difficult to understand.

Can you solve this?

Maths challenge:

You have 9 pigs, 6 cows and 3 sheeps. You have to put them in this cages. Each cage should have the same number of animals. How many animals do you put in the cage?

Advice: manipulate with the animals if you can (cut the material).

Finally, let’s continue with shapes and Abstract art. Do you remember Kandinsky? Here you have a theoretical introduction and some ideas to start.
