Els torrons ja han arribat. Les neules comencen a aparèixer a les nostres cases. Les nadales comencen a sonar pels carrers,… i el Calendari d’advent matemàtic torna a aparèixer a l’institut per dir-nos que ja ha tornat el Nadal.
Com altres anys, els departaments de Llengües estrangeres i el de Matemàtiques i Ciències hem fet el nostre particular calendari d’advent, on tothom que vingui a l’institut podrà resoldre un enigma matemàtic, tot practicant l’anglès. Aquesta és una activitat que pretén unir de manera divertida, les matemàtiques i l’anglès.
Aquest any, els enigmes són enunciats dels concurs matemàtic La Prova Cangur.
La prova Cangur és una activitat matemàtica anual, amb el format de concurs individual, promoguda per l’associació internacional Le Kangourou sans Frontières, que es marca com a objectiu la promoció de les matemàtiques entre la gent jove i la mainada, mitjançant una participació massiva en una activitat científica, sense intentar fer cap selecció ni comparació entre centres ni entre zones geogràfiques. Le Kangourou sans Frontières delega a les societats nacionals l’organització local i la traducció i adaptació concreta de les diverses proves a cada llengua. La Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques (SCM), filial de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC), és l’entitat titular de l’organització en els territoris de parla catalana.
Avui, 1 de desembre hem descobert el primer enigma, que us el presentem per a que pugueu anar pensant-lo.

It’s Christmas time at Campalans!
Nougats have already arrived. Wafers are coming. Christmas carols are sung in the streets… and the mathematic Advent calendar appears again in our school to show that Christmas is here again.
As in previous years, the Foreign languages Department and the Mathematics and Science Department have elaborated our particular Advent calendar. With it, everybody coming to our school will be able to solve a maths puzzle and practise a bit of English at the same time. This activity aims at joining maths and English having some fun.
This year the puzzles come from the maths contest La Prova Cangur. It is an annual mathematic activity, in the format of an individual contest, and it is promoted by the international association Le Kangourou sans Frontières. This association has its main goal in promoting maths among children and teenagers by a massive participation in a scientific activity, without any previous selection or comparing schools and geographical areas. Le Kangourou sans Frontières delegates the local organisation and the translation and adaptation of the different challenges. The Catalan Mathematics Society (CMS), affiliated to Catalan Studies Institute (CSI), is the principal organisation in the Catalan territory.
Today, 1st December, we have uncovered the first puzzle, which is the one that follows, so you can start to think about it.
If you want to see the rest of the problems come to the school every day, so you’ll find a new one. If you don’t, you will have to wait until the 21st December, when we will publish all the formulations in the school website.
