5è: The Fari Museum opens its doors!

During the last few weeks, the Year 5 students have been learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Throughout the sessions, students explored some of his most famous paintings while learning how to describe artworks in English.

They worked on key language structures such as “there is / there are”, prepositions of place, and adjective + noun combinations, as well as basic and expert art vocabulary (e.g., landscape, portrait, still life, oil painting,etc.).

As a final project, students worked in pairs to prepare a short oral presentation describing a Van Gogh painting. They organized their ideas, created a draft, and practiced their speaking skills.

To conclude, we transformed the classroom into our own “Fari Museum”, where students presented their assigned paintings to their classmates. It was a great opportunity to develop their confidence, creativity, and communication skills in English.

Durant les últimes setmanes, l’alumnat de 5è ha descobert l’artista Vincent Van Gogh. Al llarg de les sessions, l’alumnat va explorar algunes de les seves obres més conegudes mentre aprenien a descriure quadres en anglès.

Van treballar estructures claus com “there is / there are”, les “prepositions of place”, i les combinacions adjective + noun, així com vocabulari bàsic i específic d’art (com landscape, portrait, still life, oil painting, etc.).

Com a projecte final, l’alumnat va treballar en parelles per preparar una breu presentació oral descrivint un quadre de Van Gogh. Van organitzar les seves idees, elaborar un esborrany i practicar l’expressió oral.

Com a tancament, vam transformar l’aula en el nostre propi “Fari Museum”, on l’alumnat va presentar els seus quadres davant dels companys i companyes. Va ser una molt bona oportunitat per desenvolupar la seva confiança, creativitat i habilitats comunicatives en anglès.
