Tourism students enjoyed a georoute of Geopark Origens

Tourism students enjoyed the georoute 3 of Geopark Origens, all in English

We began the route visiting the tourism office of Pobla de Segur. We continued following the river Flamisell until the gorge of Erinyà. There was a perfect place to understand the origin of some of the main rocks of the Geopark, like limestone. After that, we continued following the river until the Mines of Castell. This site amazed us due to its history about Franco, Uranium and a possible atomic bomb!

We continued our route to Capdella Hydroelectric Museum, where Jordi explained us how this project started and how important it was for the whole valley. At the end, we arrived to Capdella, a fantastic place to understand the glacier geomorphology. From there, we could see ancient slate that was formed more than 500 million years ago.

It was a pleasure and we want to thank Xavi (the scientific director of Geopark) for organising this perfect day.
