BdE High School takes part in TED-ED Club Reus-Baix Camp

TED-Ed Clubs are a part of TED-Ed’s Student Talks Program – a free curriculum for students and educators on a mission to identify, develop, and deliver students´ ideas via TED-style talks under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. When it was founded, in 1984, TED (which stands for “Technology, Entertainment, and Design”) brought together a few hundred people in a single annual conference in California.

A total of 6 teams with 12 students of 1st Bat participated in TED-Ed Club Reus-Baix Camp on the past 3rd May at the Auditorium in l´Hospitalet de l´Infant. This educational project consisted of giving a 3-minute talk about the Sustainable Development Goals, carrying out this new challenge the pupils developed not only their creativity but also their oral communication skills.

The task was included in the course curriculum and the most creative presentations were chosen to participate in this experience. During the Culture Days the participants rehearsed their speeches in an activity that simulated the Oscars and when all the presentations were given the conference attendees voted for their favourite one. The Oscar went to Team 3: Enara Cruxent, Judit Lanceta, “Fair Growth”.

  • Team 3: Enara Cruxent, Judit Lanceta: “Fair Growth”.
  • Team 4: Damir Achmiz, Marco Figuerola: “World Peace”.
  • Team 5: Jordi Comí: “What are your pronouns?”.
  • Team 6: Ana Belén Alonso, Marina Curto, Núria Gil: “Trash or Dare?”.

The convention lasted two hours and at the end all the participants were awarded with a Certificate for participating in the TED Ed Club Talks 2022 edition.

Students and teachers eager to hear the talks had great fun. Congratulations to everybody!!!
