ANGLÈS (del 23 al 27 de març)

Per tal de treballar els continguts de l’àrea d’anglès us proposem les següents activitats:

    1. Repassar els temps verbals que vam treballar a classe l’últim dia: verb to be, present simple, present continuous, can, etc.

Instructions:

      1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat 2 tsp. of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add celery and carrots to the skillet and saute for 3-5 minutes to soften. Add in the onions and garlic and saute for 2 more minutes.
      2. While the veggies are cooking, warm the beef or vegetable stock in a small saucepan over medium heat.
      3. Add 2 tbsp of broth to the vegetable mixture to deglaze the pan. Transfer the veggies to a bowl and set aside.
      4. Heat the remaining 2 tbsp of olive oil in the skillet over medium high heat.
      5. Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.
      6. While the meat is cooking, prepare the mashed potatoes according to package directions.
      7. Turn the stove down to  medium low heat and sprinkle the flour over the cooked meat. Stir together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
      8. Add 1 1/2 cups warm stock to the beef and stir quickly to prevent lumps as the sauce can thicken quickly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes and then remove the skillet from the heat.
      9. Return the vegetable mixture to the skillet and add in the frozen peas. Stir to combine.
      10. Combine the mashed potatoes with the remaining 1/2 cup of stock and mix well.
      11. Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into a 9×9 baking dish and gently spread the mashed potatoes over the top as evenly as possible.
      12. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then turn the oven up to 400 degrees and bake for an additional 10 minutes to ensure that the vegetables have fully softened.
      13. Let cool slightly and garnish the top with finely chopped chives (optional).
