At our school, our youngest students recently had the opportunity to explore the wonders of nature by creating their own mini gardens- right in an egg carton! This hands-on activity taught them the basics of gardening while encouraging them to connect with the environment in a playful and meaningful way.
Each child received an empty egg carton and was able to fill the spaces with soil and small plants from the garden. With a bit of water and sunlight, they learned to care for their mini gardens and observed the magic of growth over time. This project was designed not only to spark curiosity, but also to give them a sense of responsibility as they cared for their tiny gardens.
Fun Fact: Did you know that plants are like nature’s air purifiers? Even small plants can help clean the air around them, making it healthier for us to breathe.
