Last Friday we said goodbye to our language assistant, Pace Bailey. It has been a great pleasure to share this school year with him and both teachers and students will surely miss him. We wish you all the best, Pace!

On April 19th, the last session of “GEP’s second year training” took place. In this session, two of our teachers shared the project called “History Apps” with other schools. In this project, 4th of ESO students have created mobile phone applications based on the United States history.

El passat 19 d’abril va ser la cloenda del curs de formació GEP de 2n any. En aquesta sessió, dos professors del centre van compartir amb la resta d’instituts el projecte History Apps, on els alumnes de 4t d’ESO van crear aplicacions de mòbils basades en la història dels Estats Units.

Students from the optional subject What do you mean? in 2nd of ESO have being into contact with teenagers from different countries in order to learn things about their culture and traditions. This has been a great experience for all of them as they have been able to exchange experiences amd interests using English as a means of communication.
L’alumnat de l’optativa de 2n d’ESO What do you mean? s’han posat en contacte amb estudiants de diferents països per conèixer la cultura i tradicions d’aquests indrets. Aquesta experiència ha estat molt enriquidora per tots ells ja que els ha permès intercanviar experiències i interessos en anglès amb altres joves de la seva edat.
Dues alumnes del nostre Institut, Maria Hortigüela i Ana Pascual, van participar en els tallers “Women and Girls in Science” organitzat per l’Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) col·laborador de la Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera.
El “Taller de física de partícules”, organitzat en col·laboració amb el CERN. Les participants van poder analitzar unes dads relacionades amb les partícules subatòmiques, i van tenir l’oportunitat de conversar, mitjançant una videoconferència, amb dues investigadores del CERN.
El “Taller d’astrofísica d’altes energies”. Els continguts d’aquest taller es van basar en l’aplicació recentment desenvolupada per l’IFAE ‘Cazadores de Rayos Gamma’ (www.cazadoresderayosgamma.com).
