Cambridge First Certificate

Congratulations for having passed the First Certificate Exam 🥳🇬🇧!!

English Day 2025: English speaking countries day

We hope you enjoy it!

Ancient Rome covers

During the second term, sixth graders have learnt a lot of things of Ancient Rome. At the end of the unit, they have created their portfolio with all the activities. Here you can see some examples of their beautiful covers.

English speaking countries project

Hello again!

The students of the elective subject English around the world have been looking for information to create a project about English-speaking countries. They have discovered that English is an official language in many countries worldwide, not just in the UK and the USA. The most prominent English-speaking countries include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In these nations, English is the primary language used for communication, education, and government. In addition to this, countries like South Africa, India, and Nigeria recognise English as an official language, often alongside others, due to historical ties to British colonisation.

Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻

Gingerbread houses

Todaythe English Around the World elective course students from 3r d’ESO built and decorated these beautiful gingerbread houses!! As you can see in the pictures, the gingerbread houses are made from gingerbread panels glued together with royal icing and decorated with candy, chocolate, and other sweets🍫🍭🍬.

Would you like to know a little bit about this tradition? The tradition of decorated gingerbread houses began in Germany in the early 1800s, supposedly popularised after the not-so-Christmassy fairytale of Hansel and Gretel was published in 1812.

Merry Xmas!🎅🏻

Describing a detective

Sixth graders have been working on how a detective should be. After writing their descriptions, they have used AI in Canva to create the perfect picture according to the description. Here you can see some of them.

RACE (L’heroi de Berlín)

Last week our students went to Cinema Catalunya in Terrassa to watch the film RACE whose protagonist is Jesse Owens. His quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy. RACE is an enthralling film about courage, determination, and friendship, as well as an inspiring drama about one man’s fight to become an Olympic legend.

The students enjoyed the film and the nice walk to go and come back from the cinema.

If you haven’t seen this film, it’s a must!

Are you ready for Trick or Treat?

This week the students of Sala i Badrinas from I3 to 4th of ESO have enjoyed different Halloween activities! As you can see in the pictures, the little students from the Comunitat de Petits have done a Lights & Shadows session, and autumn works. The Comunitat de Mitjans has created very scary monsters, and our big students from the Comunitat de Grans have created their own witches’ potions.

Some of our teenagers have done Jack-o-lanterns, and others have made colourful skeletons and skulls.

Happy Halloween!!!
