What an interesting novel! These weeks we’ve been reading Agatha Christie’s masterpiece Murder on the Orient Express. It’s an intriguing book that breaks all your moulds of who can be the murderer. It has kept students on the edge of their seats until the end! As you can see below, students have designed amazing covers for their reading dossiers. If you haven’t read it, then it is a classic crime novel and you should give it a chance.

In the elective subject Having fun in English of 3r d’ESO, we’ve read the books of the English best-seller Heartstopper written by Alice Oseman. This book has been extremely important to talk get in touch with English expressions, grammar and vocabulary we’re learning and also, to talk about the importance of respect others sexual identities. As you can see, they have created posters about the three books and their writer!

Avui els voluntaris i voluntàries de 4t d’ESO de l’assignatura Aprenentatge i Servei (APS) que estan fent el LECXIT han fet la segona formació del pla d’acompanyament lector a la Biblioteca del districte 4 de Terrassa. Ha estat una sessió molt interessant on han compartit amb altres voluntaris idees, les experiències que estan tenint al treballar amb infants de 4t de primària, fer propostes, i moltes coses més. L’alumant de secundària ho està fent genial i els de primària estan gaudint d’aquesta estona que comparteixen setmanalment.

This month the students of 2n d’ESO have been working on celebrations and we talked about American and English festivities. As part of the unit, they have chosen a topic and have made an oral presentation so that everyone could hear about the different celebrations that exist in the English-speaking countries. They’ve been able to hear about festivities that they didn’t know existed!

Ens fa molta il·lusió compartir amb vosaltres el gran treball que estan fent els voluntaris i les voluntàries de 4t d’ESO de l’assignatura Aprenentatge i Servei (APS). La Fundació GOEL és una entitat privada que es dedica a l’atenció social, educativa, inserció laboral, esport, cultura i suport a persones discapacitades. The festive season has arrived to the elective subject Having fun in English of 3r d’ESO! We’ve been working on the different English traditions for Christmas and this is why we’ve baked a Chocolate Puff Pastry Christmas Tree! We looked for the perfect recipe, made the shopping list, went shopping all together and then, we had fun baking it. Have a look at the pictures to see the final result!

La Policia Local de Terrassa s’ha apropat al nostre institut per fer una xerrada molt interessant sobre el ciberbullying (assetjament a través de les xarxes socials o internet) als alumnes de 2n d’ESO. Com l’any passat ja vam treballar el bullying al projecte monogràfic, la policia s’ha centrat en explicar els perills i les conseqùències del ciberbullying. El fet de conèixer aquests riscos ens ajudarà a tots i totes a ser més conscients sobre el respecte de les edats legals a les xarxes socials, les actituds cíviques i constructives que hem de tenir davant d’una pantalla de mòbil i/o d’ordinador.

Ja hem engegat el programa LECXIT (Lectura per a l’èxit educatiu) on l’alumnat de 4t d’ESO ajuda als infants de 4t de primària a millorar la seva comprensió lectora de forma totalment voluntària. Les activitats organitzades consisteixen en una sessió setmanal amb un voluntari/ària per a millorar la comprensió lectora. Hem fet la primera sessió i com podeu veure a les fotos, ha estat tot un èxit! Els petitons i petitones s’ho han passat d’allò més bé explicant als grans els llibres que han triat i xerrant sobre el que va succent.
