El passat 28 de setembre un grup d’alumnes de 1r de batxillerat de l’institut va fer un viatge a Grècia dins del marc del projecte de mobilitat Erasmus+. Aquest viatge ha estat molt més que una visita turística; ha estat una experiència d’enriquiment personal i acadèmic, on els alumnes han pogut practicar l’anglès i realitzar un intercanvi cultural amb estudiants de diversos països.
A continuació, compartim el Diari de Viatge on ens relaten el dia a dia les seves vivències, impressions i descobriments durant aquesta setmana.
Diary of our Erasmus Week in Greece
28/09/2024 Saturday
1st day
We got up so early in the morning because we had to stay at the airport at 8 o’clock. We met at the train station to go to the airport together. Furthermore, we arrived at the scheduled time, we made the check-in to take the tickets to our flight. When we finished doing this management, we spent some time looking for the shops and strolling around there.
Our flight was at 10:15, so we went to the boarding gate and sat on our seats. The flight was about 3 hours long, so we spent it reading, talking to each other, listening to music, and watching TV series.
When the plane landed, we had to wait for our suitcases, and then we took the metro to go to the capital of Greece, Athens. We arrived so tired at our apartment, so we decided to stay there for a bit, rest for a while, and take a shower. Next, we went for a walk around the center, and we bought some souvenirs for our family and friends, and at 21:00 more or less, we had dinner in a restaurant.
Finally, we returned to our apartment and we spent some time talking and then we went to sleep and rest for the following day.

29/09/2024 Sunday
2nd day
We woke up at 9 o’clock and we went to buy something for breakfast. Afterward, we walked around the center of Athens to visit the most important places near us. So, we went to see Syntagma Square and we also saw the changing of the guards. It was really unexpected because we didn’t know at which time they made that, and it surprised us a lot. Later, we walked through several streets full of shops and when it was lunch time we went to eat something at a restaurant there.
When we finished, we returned to the apartment, picked up our suitcases, and went straight to catch the train that left at 15:28 p.m. It was a long journey, but in the end, we arrived at our destination, Chalkida. We settled in the hotel and then we went down to swim on the beach, which was right in front of the hotel.
When we got tired, we went up to the hotel, we took a shower and then we went to have dinner all together. Finally, when we finished, we returned to the hotel and went to sleep to rest the next day and meet all the Erasmus students.

30/09/2024 Monday
3rd Day
We woke up at 8:30 in Chalkida and enjoyed a well-deserved buffet breakfast by sunrise on the terrace located on the top floor with sea views. Afterward, we were picked up by bus at 9:45 and headed to the high school, where we were highly impressed by the lush, mountainous surroundings.
Once inside, we were warmly welcomed by all the students and the principal. Immediately following, we presented the introductions from each country and the Arduino project.
After all these formal presentations, we went to tour the Karababas Castle and then to take lunch at a typical Greek restaurant on 1st line of the sea. Here, we had the opportunity to get to know our classmates more intimately.
After all this busy day, we went to do a bit of sightseeing around the island and then just chill in the hotel.

01/10/2024 Tuesday
4th day
As usual, we woke up at 8:30 and had a magnificent breakfast on the terrace of the hotel.
We went to the high school and met with all the students, the Italians, the Turkish and the Greek ones. When we were already in the main room of the school, we started with the project, we were supposed to come up with ideas to make it easier for people to make things at home, called: home automation.
Following, we took the bus and went to the beach, Where we enjoyed a magnificent buffet and radiant sunshine and we could also enjoy of a beautiful time with our mates playing on the beach with a ball.
02/10/2024 Wednesday
5th day:
On the fifth day, we woke up early, as the bus picked us up at 7:30 to spend the day in Athens. From 10 to 12 we were on a guided tour of the Acropolis, and after 12 to 14, we were free to visit the museum. When we finished, we went to eat some and tried the famous “gyros” dish. After eating, we went for another walk around the center of Athens and bought souvenirs for the families. At 8:00 p.m. the bus picked up everyone, and we returned to Chalkida. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. and went directly to look for something to have dinner.

03/10/2024 Thursday
6th day
On the sixth and last day we woke up at 8:45 to go to breakfast and at 9:30 we took the bus next to the hotel. From 10 to 12:30, we were working with the Arduino boards on the “coding a smart house system” project. Later the Italians showed us their project on a very interesting website. At 12:45 we had the final ceremony. To end the morning well, we went to visit a museum in Chalkida. When we finished we ate and went to rest at the hotel. At night, we all met to have dinner together in a restaurant and while we were eating we saw the famous Chalkida bridge opening so that the boats could pass. After dinner, we said goodbye to everyone, because the next morning we had to leave

4/10/2024 Friday
Last day
We got up early in the morning to have breakfast and catch the bus from Chalkida to Athens center, Once there, we headed to the airport and waited for our plane to Barcelona. At 5, we landed, took the suitcases, and were welcomed by our parents. We were tired but happy because we had shared a wonderful experience in a beautiful place.
