As it has become usual in the last years, the Foreign Languages Department in our school held the traditional Pumpkin Carving Contest on Nov 6th to celebrate one of the most ancient American traditions: Halloween.
“When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near HALLOWEEN”
We had a beautiful harvest of masterpieces this year and picking the winners was a really difficult job, but as promised here is this year’s winner list:
– Funniest: Clàudia Castillo & Clàudia Rovira (3rd ESO-C) – Best Handicraft: Carla Renart. (1st ESO-D) – Most Original: Gil Kopperschmidt. (1st ESO-A) – Most Terrifying: Alba Lladó & Xantal G. (3rd ESO-D)
Congratulations to them and thank you to all participants for bringing your amazing creations. They were boo-tiful!!!
The Foreign Languages Department would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who helped to make this Halloween event the success it was.
L’escenografia d’aquest any ha estat un projecte molt transversal ja que hi han participat els alumnes de l’optativa de Dibuix de 1r d’ESO i els alumnes de Tècniques Graficoplàstiques de 1r de Batxillerat. Els alumnes de 1r ESO han treballat tot dissenyant un personatge diferent a partir d’una de les 3 màscares de les qual partíem: la bruixa, en Frankenstein/Increible Hulk i la carbassa. Els alumnes del batxillerat artístic han treballat més en l’ambientació i la transformació de l’espai jugant amb l’obstrucció de l’entrada de llum per la finestra, fent forats amb els negatius de les màscares. La paret del fons amb una composició on apareixen estructures arquitectòniques que ens recorden els decorats de l’expressionisme alemany, combinat amb formes que ens remeten a “Pesadilla antes de navidad” de Tim Burton i la imatge central que surt d’una interpretació de la imatge del cartell d’una sèrie.
