First Compost Harvest Ready for the School Garden

Our composting project has produced its first batch of rich, fertile compost, ready to nourish our school garden. As you may recall, the school invested in a composter to recycle organic waste from both our school kitchen and our garden.

The process, while simple in principle, is a powerful example of nature’s recycling at work. Inside the composter, microorganisms break down the organic materials, transforming them into a valuable soil with essential nutrients, creating a healthier garden.

Students have learned about the science behind decomposition, the importance of reducing waste, and the benefits of composting for the environment. This composting project is an evidence of our commitment to sustainability. By reducing waste and creating our own fertilizer, we’re not only helping the environment, but also teaching our students valuable lessons about resource management and responsible living.

Stay tuned for more updates on our composting project and the growth of our school garden!
