A Delicious Reward: A Swiss Chard Recipe

Students have taken home every Swiss chard plant we have grown as a reward for keeping the school garden beautiful and healthy. Now, it’s time to enjoy the fruits of their hard work!

SWISS CHARD STIR-FRY

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch Swiss chard, washed and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  3. Add the Swiss chard and stir-fry until wilted.
  4. Season with soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  5. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Tip: For a more flavourful dish, consider adding other vegetables like carrots, broccoli, or mushrooms to the stir-fry.
