Lecture by teacher and translator Carme Camacho

Our technological students in fourth grade attended a lecture by teacher and translator Carme Camacho. Born in Amposta, she studied translation and interpretation at the University of Barcelona. Later, she moved to London, where she came into contact with drama performance and  traslated a few plays by modern scriptwriters. Besides, she has  translated  two novels by 19th century North American novelists:  Bartleby, the scrivener. A story of Wall street by Herman Melville (New York, 1819-1891) and Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglas, written by this former Afroamerican slave (Maryland, 1817 or 1818 – Washington, 1895) . Currently, she is a teacher in our school Foreign Language Department.

Some students have also told her about their expectations as fas as their future use of English is concerned.
