GEP Project news

As you know this year we have started our participation in the GEP project in compulsory secondary education in the subjects of mathematics and Visual and Plastic Education in the 1st year of ESO and in the natural sciences and Visual and Plastic Education in the 3rd year. There have also been some Economics sessions in the Baccalaureate.

Next year we plan to continue with these subjects and we will expand the project with Physics and Chemistry in 2nd ESO and Social Sciences in 4th ESO.

The aim of the school is to be able, over the next three years, to implement the project in the four ESO courses, to get continuity throughout the whole secondary stage and this involves:

    • An improvement in English language results in ESO.
    • The application of the CLIL methodology in the classroom
    • The consolidation of a team of teachers trained and accredited to teach curricular contents of other subjects in English.

Now is the time to evaluate our experience in this first year and we can say that it has been very positive although not everything that was planned could be carried out due to the lockdown.

We believe that it has brought benefits to students both in terms of the foreign language and in other subjects. On the one hand, their exposure to English out of English classes has increased, and on the other hand, the CLIL methodology has allowed them to work collaboratively with a much more diverse and motivating activities.

Let’s start preparing for the next course!
