CELEBRATE EARTH DAY EVERY DAY

The idea of celebrating Earth Day it is based on people working together in unity to achieve a better future for all of us. Everyone can do something to improve the world we live in. This special day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our ecosystem can be and how our action can have  positive or negative consequences on our planet. We need to protect our home and WE NEED TO DO IT RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLANET B.

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Guided by the Goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWtIZJ3EhGY

We started encouraging students to scrutinize their corrent behaviour in the school and think about how it could be changed for taking care of our home: The Planet Earth. And after that we want to spread the message widely (the whole community).

We want to help prepare the students for being better citizens of the planet and for them to believe that “They can make a difference in the world” and that “Small changes to our daily behaviour can really help create a brighter future”

Behaviour change is hard work and we must lead by example and this is why with sixth graders we had explain, to all the teachers and students in the school, some of the small actions we can do together to reduce the impact we have on the environment.
