This year our 1st ESO students celebrated the Day of the Dead at school. They watched several documentaries about this Mexican festivity, learnt some key vocabulary and built their particular altar with favourite foods and beverages for the departed, pan de muerto, plenty of colourful skulls, skeletons and marigolds.
On the Day of the Dead, it’s believed that the border between the spirit world and the real world dissolve. And during this brief period, the souls of the dead awaken and return to the living world to feast, drink, dance and play music with their loved ones.

Aquest any els alumnes de 1r d’ESO han celebrat Day of the Dead (el Dia dels Morts) a l’escola. Han mirat diversos documentals sobre aquesta festivitat mexicana, han après vocabulari clau i han construït el seu particular altar amb el menjar i les begudes preferides del difunt, amb pa de mort, moltíssimes calaveres de colors, esquelets, i flors de cempasúchil. En el Dia dels Morts, es creu que la frontera entre el món espiritual i el món real es dissol i, durant aquest breu periode de temps, les ànimes dels morts es desperten i tornen al món dels vius per festejar, beure, ballar i tocar música amb els seus éssers estimats.
