German expressionism inspires 2017 Brugulat Pumpkin contest

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a 1920 German silent horror film directed by Robert Wiene and considered the quintessential work of German Expressionist cinema, was the source of inspiration for this year Halloween Pumpkin Contest at our school.
1st Batxillerat Art students ( Volume and Audiovisual Culture ) designed the scenography where to exhibit the pumpkins our Eso students carved and decorated in a brilliant and terrific way.
As every year, five pumpkin categories were awarded in accordance with the results of the voting process on the part of teachers and school staff : the funniest, the most original, the most terrifying, the best handicraft and the very best. Not to mention, it was a hard job because of the high quality all pumpkins showed.
We would like to congratulate all participants and thank, above all, the artists who created a genuinely horrific Halloween atmosphere.
