THANK YOU, SALLY!

Last week, Sally came to our school. She explained American traditions to the sixth graders  and how schools are like in the USA.

Sally was born in Sacramento, California. During the last year she has been teaching English in a school in Vilafranca.  And this summer she has lived in Sant Cugat, working as an au pair.

She explained that in the USA all students have lunch at school. They only have a 45 minute break for lunch. Students can bring their own meal.

She told us about celebrations in the USA. She described how they celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Saint Valentine and the Fourth of July.  Then, we explained to her about la Castanyada, el tió, els reis mags, Sant Jordi, Sant Joan and la Festa Major.

She also told us what was her favourite sandwich at school: peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Finally, she said the food she missed the most was In and Out hamburgers

Thank you, Sally.
