This term, in the Science class, 4th graders students have done an experiment to observe how kidneys work.
We know that kidneys filter the blood but we would like to know how.
We have been working in groups.
We have used two funnels (that represent the kidneys) one with cotton and another with a strainer, and untidy water that represents the blood that arrives to the kidneys. We have poured the water in the two funnels and we have seen that the water filters better in the funnel with cotton than in the funnel with the strainer.
We arrive at the conclusion that the water that comes down the funnel with the strainer represents the urine and that the water that comes down the funnel with the cotton represents the clean blood with nutrients and oxygen.
We have enjoyed and learnt a lot doing the experiment!
