Is/Was there…? Are/Were there any…?
In pairs, 5th grade pupils did an information gap activity where they needed to talk each other to complete the information they didn’t have. This communicative activity represents a communicative situation in that students communicate for a purpose, in this case to complete a table by asking questions. It is really motivating and provides students with an opportunity for extended speaking.
