Do you know Chinua Acheb…

Do you know Chinua Achebe, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Bessie Head, Buchi Emecheta, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, John Richard Briley or Peter Abrahams? Have you read any of these books When Rain Clouds Gather, No longer at Ease, Cry Freedrom, The Mistress of Spices, The Bride Price, Mine Boy, Things Fall Apart or Weep Not, Child?

If the answer to the questions is NO, you can ask 2nd of Batxillerat students. They have all the information you need. They have been working on the authors and the readers for over a couple of months and now they have become ‘experts’.

Today there has been a POSTER PRESENTATION and it has been a howling success. ‘They have all shined bright like diamonds’ as Rihanna sings. It has been an awesome opportunity for the students to learn about culture and traditions from English speaking countries different from Great Britain or the USA.

They have enjoyed the experienced very much. In their words ‘It has been a dynamic, interesting activity.’ ‘We have been able to feel comfortable explaining the book to our classmates.’ ‘We have had the opportunity to ask details on the reader we were curious about.’

As a teacher, what else can I wish for? I want to congratulate all of them for their effort and positivity towards the experience. Here I leave some of their posters and presentations.
