Are you water-wise?

Each person has a water footprint. The amount of water you use every day for things like drinking, washing your
hands, and flushing toilets is part of your water footprint. If you use a lot of water in your daily life, you have a
large water footprint. If you use less water each day, you have a smaller water footprint.

Maria Rúbies Global Scholars have analysed our water footprint. Here you can read some of our results:

Dear peers,

Our average is 15535,75 L each week. We are surprised because it’s  a lot of water, all members of the group think that.

We think the challenge to being water-wise is to reduce the time in the shower, we can close the tap when we are washing our hands. We can also put a bottle inside the tank in order to reduce the amount of water that flushes when you use it.

This week, we will be more water-wise by using less water doing things.

What things do you do to be water-wise?

Sincerely,

Aya, Madiou, Xavier, Daniel.

Dear peers,

Our average water footprint is 10806,333333

We were surprised by our water footprint because we spend a lot of water in one day.

We think the challenges to being water-wise are easy to say or explain and difficult to do.

This week we will be more water-wise by reducing our water footprint  because water is very important for our life. We won’t spend a lot of time in the shower (10 m), we’ll eat more vegetables instead of  so much meat,…

A question for you is, are you surprised about your water footprint?

Sincerely,

Maria, Paula, Paola and Hector
