Today some students gave us a guided tour of the exhibition of the “Museo Scholastico delle arti della comunicazione Bodoni Paravia”, which is the institute’s museum. They showed us the different old machines they keep, which the students had used throughout the history of the institute, which was founded in 1902. We were able to learn how the lithographic press, the book binder or the Lynotype printing press worked. They also showed us the various old cameras, the amplifier and the video cameras. We were able to learn how voice recording was done (optical system and magnetic system) and the technological evolution of all these audiovisual instruments.

Avui uns alumnes ens han fet una visita guiada a l’exposició del “Museo Scholastico delle arti della comunicazione Bodoni Paravia”, que és el museu de l’institut. Ens han ensenyat les diferents màquines antigues que guarden, que havien utilitzat els alumnes al llarg de la història de l’institut, va ser fundat el 1902. Hem pogut aprendre el funcionament de la premsa litogràfica, la relligadora de llibres o l’impemta Lynotipe. També ens han ensenyat les diverses càmeres fotogràfiques antigues, l’amplificadora i les càmeres de vídeo. Hem pogut aprendre com es feia la gravació de la veu (sistema òptic i sistema magnètic) i l’evolució tecnològica de tots aquests instruments audiovisuals. 

Next, we attended a Graphic Design class. The students presented the project they had developed (perfume advertising posters) and the teachers gave feedback and ideas for improvement. They also showed us the perfume boxes they had previously developed, inspired by classic works by different artists.

A continuació, hem assistit a classe de Disseny Gràfic. Els estudiants han presentat el projecte que han elaborat (cartells d’anuncis de perfum) i els professors han anat donant feedback i idees de millora. A més, ens han ensenyat les caixes de perfum que han elaborat prèviament inspirant-se en obres clàssiques de diferents artistes.  

At the end of the day, we were able to observe the Screen Printing class with Professor Di Stefano. They showed us the technique used to make the prints. In this case, the students had made a design (their caricatures) on a t-shirt, had prepared the frame with the screen printing screen and applied the paint using the squeegee. They carried out the procedure several times, once for each color, and finally let the product dry. It was a very interesting practical class.

Al final de la jornada, hem pogut observar la classe de Serigrafia amb el professor Di Stefano. Ens han mostrat la tècnica que s’utilitza per fer les impressions. En aquest cas, l’alumnat havien fet un disseny (les seves caricatures) en una samarreta, havien preparat el bastidor amb la pantalla serigràfica i posaven la pintura utilitzant la rasqueta. Realitzaven el procediment diverses vegades, una per a cada color, i finalment deixaven assecar el producte. Ha estat una classe pràctica molt interessant. 

At noon, we went to the Cinema Museum to observe a workshop session with primary school students. Today’s workshop focuses on reviewing Marvel and DC superheroes and then creating your own superhero with their super powers. The afternoon was completed with a visit to the Cinema Museum facilities. We started the route by going up to the observatory located at the top of the building’s dome, from where we could see the views of the city of Turin to the Alps.

Al migdia, ens hem desplaçat fins al museu del Cinema per observar una sessió de taller amb alumnat de primària. El taller del dia d’avui se centra en el repàs dels superherois del Marvel i DC per després crear el seu propi superheroi i amb els seus super poders. La tarda s’ha completat amb una visita a les instal·lacions del Museu del Cinema. Hem iniciat la ruta pujant amb l’observatori situat a la part superior de la cúpula de l’edifici des d’on hem pogut contemplar les vistes de la ciutat de Torí fins als Alps. 

After the wonderful views of the city, we took a guided tour of the history of cinema that is located in the initial part of the museum. This part of the visit covers from the earliest period of shadow theatre to the first silent film recordings.

Després de les meravelloses vistes de la ciutat, hem fet una visita guiada per la història del cinema que es troba a la part inicial del museu. Aquesta part de la visita abasta des del període més inicial del teatre d’ombres fins a les primeres gravacions de cinema mut.

Once we discovered the history of the world of cinema, we were able to enjoy the rest of the museum that exhibits historical elements of the world of cinema and reviews its history, its main elements and the relevant characters of the seventh art. In addition, currently in the central ramp of the cinema there is an exhibition dedicated to director James Cameron. In this section we can discover his entire career from his beginnings drawing movie posters to a detailed review of great works in his filmography such as Terminator, Avatar or Titanic among others.

Un cop descoberta la història del món del cinema, hem pogut gaudir de la resta del museu que exposa elements històrics del món del cinema i en repassa la història, els seus elements principals i els personatges rellevants del setè art. A més a més, actualment a la rampa central del cinema s’hi troba una exposició dedicada al director James Cameron. En aquesta secció podem descobrir tota la seva trajectòria des dels seus inicis dibuixant cartells de pel·lícules fins a un repàs detallat per grans obres de la seva filmografia com Terminator, Avatar o Titànic entre d’altres.
