The Girona School of Hospitality and Tourism is characterised by its brightness and outward-opening structure. Light and friendly spaces are some of the features defining the architecture of the centre facilities.

Auditorium

The auditorium has a capacity of 50 people approximately and it is equipped with audiovisual facilities. It is the place where presentations and activities are carried out during the academic year. Institutional acts of the Department of Education and further entities also take place therein.

Demo room

This room is used to carry out practical lessons and activities. Demos by students and teachers in the centre also take place there, as well as and by professionals and companies within the field.

Restaurants and bar

The shop
The coffee-bar

The restaurant rooms are the spaces where the students of hospitality programs carry out their practical lessons. The centre counts with several spaces for restaurant that are separated by sliding walls allowing to divide or join the spaces. Two of the restaurants are open to the external public.

In the tasting restaurant the most elaborate dishes are served. It is a restaurant with a closed, temporal menu, and it is open to everyone. Only lunch during the academic year is served therein.

The pedagogical restaurant is also open to the external public. Only lunch is served and it is composed by a menu that changes every week.

In the shop we provide an offer of the products elaborated within the pastry program. It is open to the public.

The coffee-bar is not open to the public, it is a space for use and offer for the educative community in the centre.

Cooking – Bakery, pastry and confectionery

Kitchen spaces
Pastry room
Baking room

The pastry room is the space where practical lessons of pastry and confectionery are carried out. The lessions about baking take place in the baking room.

Kitchens cover a great area. This space is organised in different zones:

  • The food pre-elaboration area is the place where the food composing the dishes in the restaurants are cut and prepared.
  • The pedagogical kitchen area is the place where each student has his/her own stoves and all s/he needs to elaborate the dishes.
  • The central kitchen area works as a kitchen in a restaurant, an only kitchen to work as a team.
  • The collective kitchen area in which food for greater volumes is cooked.

Hotel room and laundry, reception and tourism rooms

The laudry room is the space where washing and ironing practices for hotel and restaurant are carried out.

In the room we learn about the preparation and running when cleaning a hotel room.
