From the Philippines to Badia i Margarit, by Diesel Marasignan.

Before I came here in Igualada, I did not expect that I will start my school here immediately that’s why I didn’t study the language. There are so many changes when we got here because Igualada is very different from the country I come from, which is the Philippines. I often get “home-sick” because I am not used in being away from my family. The days went by and I get a little used to it but I ddin’t even have a friend yet. But one day, the government here told us that I would start my school here and I was very happy about it  and very nervous too. They told us that Badia i Margarit accepts students that do not speak the language here so this was the school I am enrolled.

When we went to school, I didn’t know if I should be happy or scared because I am a new student. I met the director of the school and she is very kind to talk to and I met some of my teachers. When we were about to go to my classmates, I was very nervous and I was very shy. When I introduced myself to them, it was very good to feel that I will meet new people again and they all look very kind. On my first day, many of them approached me and introduced themselves to me. At first, I was too embarrassed to talk to them but now that I have been a little longer here I talk to them more often. I have many friends now and I am thankful that we got here otherwise I will not have met them. The teachers are very fond of me and and they are all doing their best for me to understand the lesson and I am very grateful. Often, I do not understand much because of the words but I do understand a bit because the teachers are helping me. I can’t even tell them most of the time that I am thankful but I know that the life and the study that I got here will be a big use for my future.

For me, there is nothing to change here in Badia i Margarit because this school is beautiful and many students are learning and I am one of them. I hope that when the time comes, Badia i Margarit will produce more successful persons in the future.
