TED Ed Clubs are a part of TED Ed’s Student Talks Program, a free curriculum for students and educators on a mission to identify, develop, and deliver students´ ideas via TED-style talks under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. When it was founded, in 1984, TED (which stands for “Technology, Entertainment, and Design”) brought together a few hundred people in a single annual conference in California.
For the fourth consecutive year, our 1st Bat students have participated in the TED Ed CLUB 2025 project, organized by the CRP (Baix Camp) and integrated into the English Language curriculum. During the second term, the students worked diligently to prepare a short conference on the theme of AUTHENTIC, which helped enhance their communication skills in English and build their confidence when speaking in public.

On Monday, March 24, a dress rehearsal was held in the format of an Oscars ceremony, attended by two representatives from the CRP. Finally, on Monday, March 31, the final event took place at the municipal auditorium. The other two participating high schools, INS Cambrils and INS Miami, along with the CRP representatives joined us in our town and contributed positively to the event.

These are some of the students´opinions:
«The TED Ed Club 2025 has been a great experience. At first, I was nervous about public speaking but with every rehearsal, not only have I improved my ability to speak in public, but also I have learned how to structure my ideas clearly and effectively. These have been moments of growth, creativity, and learning that will be valuable for a lifetime». Júlia Bes Lanceta (1st BAT A)
«Giving a Ted Talk has been an amazing experience. At first, I was very nervous, but as I practiced, I became more confident. Speaking in front of so many people was difficult, but it helped me to improve my public speaking skills. I learned how important it is to connect with the audience and explain my ideas clearly. The feedback I got was really positive, and it made me feel proud of myself. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I would love to do it again». Sergi Quirante Ricardo (1st BAT A)
«I really liked the activity. It was a good chance to do something new that we had never done before. I like this kind of project because working on our own gives us more freedom to do it our way. I’m very pleased with our final result». Amaia Guerrero Lozano (1st BAT B)
«When I first heard that we would be doing TED Talks in the English classes, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had watched a few TED Talks before but had never imagined giving one myself. One of the biggest lessons I took away from this was the ability of making the audience interact. I learned that a great presentation isn’t just about sharing information, it’s about making people connect with your ideas. This experience also helped me understand the importance of confidence when speaking in front of others. Instead of just focusing on my words, I learned to focus on how I delivered them. Since then, this experience has changed the way I give presentations in other subjects. Whether I’m speaking in chemistry, Catalan, or any other class. I’m very grateful for being part of this experience, I had a lot of fun while learning a new way of delivering presentations». Guillem Callau Espinola (1st BAT B)
«My opinion about the TED Talk is positive. I think it was well-structured and well-organized. The classes we had before starting the TED project were helpful and prepared us for the task. The TED site also was useful for us. I found it interesting and a great way to work in class, practice our pronunciation, and improve our presentation in front of an audience. Overall, I believe it was a good project». Aziza Hya (1st BAT B)
