Last Saturday 5th October, Ethan was invited by teacher Miquel to see how he trains doing the typical Catalan human towers – castells- They moved to Lleida to train and later on there was an exhibition in Plaça Sant Joan. Awesome!

Avui, 4 d’octubre de 2019, hem iniciat els ambients d’aprenentatge. Ha estat un dia ple de descobriments: la medalla amb els nous reptes que se’ns han presentat; el nostre nou grup de treball, variat i diferent del curs passat; i nous mestres i senyoretes que, atès que fa tants poquets dies que hem començat, molts de nosaltres no hi havíem parlat mai!
Alguns hem treballat ja amb les Bee-Bots i ens hem iniciat al pensament computacional. D’altres, hem descobert diferents tipus de pa que s’elabora aquí a Catalunya però… i el pa àrab? Fa tan bona pinta! Doncs n’hem elaborat a la classe a l’ambient Compartir és construir. Delicious!!!!
Novetats, novetats que us anirem definint, divendres rere divendres!
Avui, tots ben emocionats, hem començat l’assemblea del dilluns. Hem donat la benvinguda als alumnes de 1r, per a ells ben nou aquest espai i aquest moment.
Hem recordat què cal fer per poder exposar una assemblea, la inscripció, el buscar un tutor que ens guiï la nostra presentació…
Hem reflexionat també sobre la importància de respectar el nostre planeta, de cuidar-lo, de generar el mínim possible de residus, el reciclatge i la reutilització. A més, hem vist el vídeo Earth que parla de la conscienciació que hem tenir tots plegats.
Desitgem que apreguem moltíssim els uns dels altres i que les nostres recerques i presentacions sigui d’allò més originals i creatives.
Today, October 1st, we have started our day at school in the playground. We have received Ethan with a warm Welcoming party. Children and teachers have read different messages and Ethan’s answered too. At the end with our banners and posters we have sung our school anthem. Wowww, we are ready to start!
Last Monday 30th, Ethan’s host families came to the school to meet him. We had a nice long conversation and everybody could clarify doubts, ask questions and be in contact with him. Most of the families wanted Ethan at home yet!
We couldn’t wait! We wanted to start school and enjoy our art sessions!
First activity to be done has been a real challenge! Teacher Núria came up with an unusual and authentic idea. Oscar Julve’s display needed a coat of paint, so we did it! Carefully and stroke by stroke we restored the painting. It seems new!
On September 27th evening we had the pleasure to receive our Language Assistant, Ethan. He’s going to spend the whole school-year with us at Les Arrels School!
During this period of time, Ethan is going to live with some of our families. Five host families are ready to accommodate him at their houses as a new member of the family.
The first to start this big great adventure was Fabian’s family. From the very beginning good vibes were around. Thanks Jaume, Alina and Fabian for being so kind and amiable!
Good luck Ethan! Be very welcome to our school, to our town, to our hearts!
Ethan, our Language Assistant, visited us in July. He wanted to discover our schools, our town… and talk a little bit about timetables, subjects, kids’ ages… We had an awesome meeting though the hot, hot weather.
